Police in Cobb County said a felon drove a car toward officers and nearly ran them over while trying to run away with drugs and a stolen gun.

Skylar Dana Gragg, 26, of Dallas, faces several charges in the incident, which damaged seven cars, officials said.

The chaotic scene unfolded in Acworth on Friday afternoon, according to an arrest warrant obtained by AJC.com.

Several cars were lined up in front of an auto repair shop in the 4400 block of Acworth Industrial Drive, Channel 2 Action News reported. A Cobb police officer pulled over a 2002 Buick on Old Cowan Road, the warrant said.

The officer said Gragg was in the front passenger seat but was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver cooperated with the officer, Channel 2 reported, but Gragg ran away with a blue backpack, the warrant said. As police searched for him, Gragg made his way back to the Buick, the warrant said.

Gragg got in the car and crawled into the driver’s seat, the warrant said. After officers told him to get out, three of them deployed stun guns to make him comply, the warrant said.

However, the stun guns did not stop Gragg from putting the gun into reverse and driving it directly into the path of one of the officers, according to the warrant. Gragg then drove forward and hit two parked vehicles.

At some point, Gragg smashed the Buick head-on into a patrol car.

Investigators said they found 7.7 grams of cocaine split into three plastic baggies and 10.7 grams of heroin in Gragg’s backpack, the warrant said.

Police said they also found a gun that had been reported stolen out of College Park.

Gragg was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on Saturday and remains there with no bond, jail records show.

He is charged with theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine, trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, fleeing or attempting to elude, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and three counts of obstruction.

Gragg was convicted of theft by receiving stolen property in Cobb in 2017, officials said.
