Lack of a child safety seat leads to drug bust

A traffic stop concerning a child not in a safety seat led to police finding drugs, according to a media report.

Darrell Tanner, 44, of Columbus, was pulled over Thursday after his 4-year-old was not in a child safety seat, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported.

Police arrested Tanner after they found marijuana, cocaine and other drug-related items in his car, according to the paper.

Tanner faces drug charges in addition to charges for not having the child in a safety seat.
