One person was killed and another injured in a shooting that led to gunfire with police inside the Chapel Hills subdivision Sunday in Douglasville.

Officers made one arrest, Douglasville police said in a Facebook post.

The incident started when police got a call about a domestic disturbance just before 9:15 p.m.

“Upon arrival, an officer was confronted by a suspect who was armed with a handgun,” police said in the post. “Gunfire was exchanged between the officer and suspect, but neither was injured.”

Officers found two people with gunshot wounds. One of them had died, police said. The other was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The injured person’s condition is unknown at this time.
