19-year-old fatally shot while walking from Union City gas station

Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was found shot and killed in Union City on Sunday evening.

Officers responding to the shooting in the area of Highpoint Road and Stonewall Drive found the victim unresponsive just before 7:30 p.m., according to Union City police.

He was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as Dominique Holt.

For several hours Sunday night, detectives and crime scene investigators collected evidence in the residential area. They determined Holt was walking from a nearby Shell station when someone opened fire, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Neighbors described Holt as a sweet young man who mostly kept to himself, according to Channel 2. Police have not determined a motive and have not released any suspect information.
