A man was hit in the head when four people forced their way into his DeKalb County home early Wednesday morning and demanded cash.

The victim said the group broke into his home in the 2900 block of Fields Drive off Fairington Road around 3:45 a.m., DeKalb police spokesman J.D. Spencer told AJC.com. After making their demands, one of the alleged robbers struck the man in the head.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to be OK.

The intruders were gone by the time officers arrived.

“The suspects took a debit card, cellphone and purse and fled the location in an unknown direction,” Spencer said in a statement. “There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”
