The Hall County infant who died Tuesday after being attacked by her family’s dog has been identified.

Authorities said 22-day-old Ruth Flores died after she was bitten in the head by a husky mix while resting in the bedroom of her Gainesville home.

The infant was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she later died, AJC.com previously reported.

Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Derreck Booth said animal control took custody of the dog and is conducting its own investigation into the incident.

It’s unclear whether anyone will face charges in the case.
