An accused neo-Nazi in Tampa, who police say threatened to kill people in online chat rooms and blow up buildings, was granted bond from a judge on Friday.

A U.S. Magistrate concluded Brandon Russell, 22, "is not a threat to the community" from lack of "clear and convincing evidence," NBC News reports.

According to authorities, Russell held explosive materials at his Tampa apartment, where police also found white supremacist posters and a photograph of Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh.

Russell was arrested in May during a traffic stop in the Florida Keys, and was charged with possession of unregistered destructive devices and unlawful storage of explosive material.

Police discovered Russell's bomb-making materials while investigating a double-homicide of his two roommates at the apartment, which was allegedly conducted by a third roommate, 18-year-old Devon Arthurs.

Arthurs confessed to killing his two roommates for allegedly disrespecting his recent conversion to Islam, police said. Arthurs then told officers that Russell threatened to bomb buildings and kill people while talking in online chat rooms.

Russell allegedly admitted to officers that he held neo-Nazi beliefs and owned the explosive materials, according to NBC News.

Russell remains in Pinellas County Jail and has a scheduled hearing on Tuesday, NBC News reports.
