An inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at the DeKalb County jail Sunday.

Jail staff tried to revive James L. Williams, 37, when he was found unresponsive Sunday by a medical staffer, said Deputy Cynthia Williams. He was transported to DeKalb Medical Center where doctors confirmed his death, Williams said.

Williams had been jailed since June 28 on charges of family violence, domestic violence, and a probation violation. The cause of death is still under investigation, Williams said.
