Authorities Friday offered a $3,000 reward for information leading to the capture of an inmate who escaped from the Meriwether County Jail, where he was being held on molestation, rape and other charges.

Eugene Lamar Mitchell and Travion Terrell Hall escaped from their cell block about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Hall, 29, was captured Wednesday night in a room at the Garden Inn & Suites in Hogansville, the Meriwether sheriff’s office said in a statement.

However, Mitchell is still on the run. Mitchell, 34, was being held on charges of incest, statutory rape, aggravated sexual battery, felony burglary, child molestation and aggravated child molestation when he escaped from the jail, according to a sheriff’s booking report.

Mitchell is 5-foot-10 and weighs 155 pounds.

Authorities believe Mitchell changed out of the orange jump suit assigned to him in jail into different clothing while in the Rocky Mount area.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 706-672-4489, 770-508-2500 or 911 immediately.

“Do not approach this wanted fugitive,” the sheriff’s office said.
