With multiple agencies involved in an overnight search, a party of seven hikers that included four children were found Monday in North Georgia, officials said.
“The lost hikers have been found by a Georgia DNR helicopter,” West Polk County Volunteer Fire and Rescue officials said on Facebook.
The hikers were last seen at Jacks River Falls in Fannin County, near Tennessee, officials said.
Crews from Murray, Polk and Bradley (Tenn.) counties also were involved.
Officials began searching Sunday night in the Cohutta Wilderness, Channel 2 Action News reported. The children’s ages range from 4 to 11, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.
