Gwinnett man used app to collect, trade child porn, police say

The 20-year-old faces felony charges.

A 20-year-old Gwinnett County man used a popular online app to collect and trade child pornography, police said.

Officers found child porn on the computer and smartphone belonging to Jessie Pfeil, Channel 2 Action News reported. Officers said he confessed to the illegal activity on the messenger app Kik.

Police arrested Pfeil after they received a tip.

“About a month ago, Gwinnett police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” Det. Sam Flynn said, “that there was a user who had been uploading 65 videos of child pornography in the Lilburn area.”

After a months-long investigation, police arrested Pfeil at his Lilburn home. Officers said he confessed to the child porn activity.

According to Facebook, Pfeil works at a paintball company in Macon that is owned by his father, Channel 2 reported. The man said he plans to hire an attorney to represent his son.

Investigators said it’s another reason why people should stay vigilant about their children’s social media activities.

“We want parents to go through their childrens’ devices,” Flynn said, “so that they can be sure that their child is not being approached by an online predator.”
