A man was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for advertising a 14-year-old girl for sexual trafficking purposes.

Cortez Clemmons, 28, was found guilty by a Spalding County jury Wednesday after the victim testified in court, according to a Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office news release.

Clemmons took the victim to different locations to perform sexual acts with multiple men, the news release said.

According to the DA’s office, this is the first sex trafficking case tried in the Griffin Judicial Court.

“I hope today’s verdict sends a strong message to our community that this behavior will not be tolerated ... Children deserve to be protected, and we will do whatever it takes to ensure all children are safe from predators,” Assistant District Attorney Morgan Kendrick said.

Clemmons was convicted of aggravated child molestation, two counts of child molestation, sodomy, trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, enticing a child for indecent purposes, pimping for persons under 18 and computer pornography.
