A Braselton motor sports business owner’s death is now being investigated as a homicide, authorities said Thursday.

Eric Adams, 32, was found unresponsive on the floor of Adams Motorsports in the 11000 block of Lewis Braselton Boulevard on Friday afternoon, the GBI said in a news release.

Jackson County Emergency Medical Services took Adams to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

Medical staff at the hospital noted a suspicious injury consistent with that of a gunshot wound, the release said. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office began investigating and ended up calling in the GBI for assistance.

An autopsy in the GBI’s Crime Lab in Decatur led to Adams’ death being ruled a homicide, the release said.
