A Gainesville man was arrested after allegedly distributing child pornography.

Mark Jason Wood, 44, was arrested last week by Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators and charged with nine counts of distribution of child sexual abuse material and one count of sexual exploitation of children, according to a news release.

The sheriff's office worked with the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force during an investigation that began Aug. 3. When he was taken into custody at his Whitmire Circle home Aug. 15, Wood was in possession of child pornography videos, the release said. The next day, investigators obtained an additional arrest warrant for the distribution counts after finding nine more videos of minors engaged in sexual conduct.

Wood remains in the Hall County jail without bond.
