A Florida man who authorities said had "massive amounts of child pornography" was sentenced to 885 years in prison.

According to the Office of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, 31-year-old Shawn Ryan Thomas told an informant about plans to kidnap a child, kill the parents and sexually batter the child while producing child pornography.

Before Thomas was able to carry out those plans, the informant tipped off the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Authorities arrested Thomas in June 2014 on multiple charges, according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.

He was convicted in June of 60 counts of possession of child pornography, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Each count carried a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

On 59 of the counts, Seminole County Judge Marlene Alva gave Thomas the maximum penalty. He was sentenced to 15 years of sex offender probation on the last count.
