An 82-year-old Osceola County man has charged with shooting at his wife, Osceola County deputies said.

The shooting happened Sunday at the couple’s home.

According to the arrest report obtained by WFTV, John Nicholson's wife returned from the grocery store at 11:25 a.m. to find the door that connects the garage to the house locked.

Nicholson unlocked the door, pointed a gun at his wife and began firing shots, deputies said.

His wife was not injured. A neighbor called 911.

Deputies said when they talked to Nicholson, they noticed a small amount of blood on him. When they asked about it, he said, “Yes, it’s from the gun. I don’t know how to use that thing, and my ears are ringing.”

Investigators found five holes that appeared to be from shots fired in the garage and in front of the home.
