Cobb County police have released details of the Monday armed robbery at The Avenue that put two schools on lockdown when one of the suspects fled.
James Donald Smith, 18, was arrested on seven counts of both armed robbery and aggravated assault along with charges of kidnapping and possession of a firearm during a felony.
He was booked into Cobb County Jail just before 11 a.m. and remains there without bond.
Police have a couple leads on the second suspect, but he remains at large.
Here's what police released:
Officers responded to Simply Mac, an Apple sales and repair store, at 4475 Roswell Road in Marietta. They found that two men armed with handguns came into the store and ordered employees and customers to the back of the store, corralling them into a storeroom. The men then gathered up electronics and left in a white van with ladders on top of it.
When officers tried to stop the van, it sped off on Roswell Road until it hit another vehicle that was trying to pull out of The Pavilion at Eastlake and onto Roswell.
After the crash, the driver ran away toward the Azalea Springs Apartment complex toward Wheeler High School and East Cobb Middle School, causing the schools to go on lockdown.
Police described the suspect Monday as being skinny with short curly hair about two inches long and wearing a grey hoodie with black pants.
Officers nabbed Smith at the scene and helped transport him to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries before taking him to jail. The other driver was not injured.
