It has been several days since Cameron Johnson was killed in an apparent love-triangle dispute, and his family and friends are still struggling to cope with their loss.
According to police, the 32-year-old Johnson was fatally shot by his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in the Moon Crest housing community Wednesday evening.
Allegheny County police have an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Jesse Jones, of Moon Township, on criminal homicide and other charges. Jones is still on the run, police said.
On Monday, Johnson's family told WPXI they're praying the suspect is caught.
Family members said Johnson had five children, and the oldest is 11-year-old Kyliece.
"I really didn't believe it. I didn't believe it was true. I was just so surprised and overwhelmed that it happened,” she said.
“He was just a fun-loving, happy person,” said Johnson’s nephew, Gerard Rippey. “He would bright up any room with his jokes.”
Johnson is remembered in a positive light by those who knew him best.
"He was a family person. His kids were the most important thing to him. It's shocking that this is even happening period,” said Johnson’s sister, Kim Haskins.
