Drug deal at the Big Chicken goes afoul, Cobb cops run down kidnappers

Sept 21, 2016Cobb County law enforcement officers issued a warrant for two men wanted on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a drug deal went awry at a Marietta fried chicken landmark.
A warrant says that Charles Laverne Grimes and Jose Blass Aparicio were meeting up with two men to sell them drugs at the famous KFC spot, at 12 Cobb Parkway N., the night of Sept. 12.

Jail records show that Aparicio was booked into Cobb County Jail on Saturday, the day after the warrant was issued. He remains in jail with a bond of $15,000. Grimes is not in jail, according to Marietta police spokeswoman Kelah Wallace.
Grimes and Aparicio pulled out their guns "after a drug transaction went bad," the warrant says. From there, the pair forced the men to drive them around for a couple of hours.
