A Florida man was arrested on Sunday after deputies said he punched a child in the face after they didn’t get to church quick enough.
Angel Rivera, 49, was getting ready to leave for church when the child he was with was having issues putting on shoes because of an ankle brace, WKMG reports. Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Rivera became upset with the child for taking so long, so the kid went into a room and tried closing the door.
Rivera was able to open the door and punched the child in the face, deputies said. The child was bleeding, had a black and blue eye, and was taken to the hospital, WKMG added.
Rivera was arrested on charges of child abuse and battery due to domestic violence.
