DeKalb County police arrested a suspect who is accused of stabbing his mom to death, assaulting his father and stabbing his brother Tuesday.

Brandon Nash, 26, was arrested after police spent the early morning hours searching for him, DeKalb police Lt. Mark Lavigne said.

The search followed an alleged domestic dispute that unfolded at about 3:30 a.m. on Cherokee Valley Drive in Lithonia, DeKalb police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore said.

Police believed Nash may have left the Lithonia home with a gun after the dispute and a friend may have picked him up, Lavigne said.

By 7:45 a.m., Nash was in police custody at a facility near McAfee and Candler roads in Decatur, he said.

The injured brother was taken to a hospital and is in serious condition, Fore said. The father sustained minor injuries.
