1 dead in double shooting inside Tucker motel room

A man is dead and another is injured after a shooting Sunday night inside a motel room in Tucker.

The men were shot inside the same room at the Stone Mountain Inn and Suites, DeKalb County police told Channel 2 Action News. The motel is located on Mountain Industrial Boulevard just north of Stone Mountain Freeway.

Only one victim was inside the room when officers responded to the shooting just before midnight, Channel 2 reported. He was found shot in his head and pronounced dead at the scene.

The other took himself to a hospital, police spokesman Sgt. Davin Morgan told the news station.

“We are still trying to piece together the circumstances that led up to this shooting,” he said.
