Seven people, including a sheriff's deputy, suffered injuries early Sunday after a brawl broke out at a North Carolina country club, according to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities got multiple calls around 2:30 a.m. about a large-scale fight at the Lakewood Country Club clubhouse in Salemburg. The clubhouse was being rented out for a private party at the time, The Fayetteville Observer reported.
Deputies found multiple groups of people fighting when they arrived. They managed to break up the fights, but not before three people were shot, one person was stabbed, and two others beaten, according to the The Sampson Independent. A sheriff's deputy also suffered a minor cut to the arm and another deputy's vehicle was struck by people attempting to flee from the country club, although the deputy was not injured.
One person suffered serious injuries in the melee, according to the Independent.
Authorities did not immediately identify those injured. No arrests have been made and no motive has been identified.
