A 14-year-old girl was arrested after she allegedly threatened to burn her mother and stepfather by setting their apartment on fire, according to a report in the OnlineAthens website.

Athens-Clarke police said the teen allegedly made the threats because she was upset about a missing container of Mountain Dew, according to the website.

The mother told police she lives in fear of her daughter, who she said is involved with a gang and is under house arrest for a previous arrest on an unruly child charge, the website said.

The teen allegedly entered her grandmother’s home, where her mother was visiting, then blew cigarette smoke in her mother’s face and threatened to set the family’s apartment on fire.

The mother told officers she was scared to be in her own home. Read more of the story at OnlineAthens.
