A physical education teacher from Hall County is facing two additional charges as part of an investigation into his alleged online contact with students, authorities said Monday.

The former West Hall Middle School teacher, William David Bagwell, 33, is now charged with sexual assault against a student and obscene internet contact with a child, according to Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Derreck Booth.

That adds to a previous charge of electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor.

Bagwell, of Oakwood, was arrested last week after allegedly sharing a photo of his genitalia with a 14-year-old student, according to Booth.

Authorities say their investigation discovered Bagwell sent a message on social media to a second female student, who is 15, that described sexually explicit conduct.

The alleged conduct happened between July 1 and Aug. 26, Booth said.

Bagwell posted a $17,100 bond Friday night. The case remains under investigation.
