A man was arrested in Florida last week after allegedly tricking multiple underage girls into sending him nude photos, including one in Newton County, authorities said.

Nathan Porter, 37, used several mobile apps to find teenagers willing to send him the illegal images, Covington police Capt. Ken Malcom told Channel 2 Action News. The family of a 14-year-old girl reported the activity to the police department in May.

“(They) had discovered some very disturbing material being exchanged between their child and — what we later learned to be —a  37-year-old man pretending to be a teenager himself,” Malcom said.

Investigators said he used apps including Sketch, My Pet and Discord to find his victims, Channel 2 reported. In addition to photos, he’s accused of sending “lewd comments” and participating in “very sick conversations” with the children, Malcom said.

Police learned Malcom was living at a motel in Punta Gorda, Fla., which led to his arrest, the news station reported. The city is about 110 miles southeast of Tampa.

The Covington child isn’t his only alleged victim.

“We began communication with officials there (in Florida) along with officials in Ontario, Canada, that also had potential charges against our suspect,” Malcom said.

It’s unclear when he’ll be extradited to Newton County to face his charges.
