Cops: Georgia man steals beer truck, runs over own leg

Nov 23, 2015

A Columbus man put a whole new spin on the “beer run” Monday morning, police said, swiping a truck full of frothy goodness before crushing his own leg with it.

The Columbus Ledger-Inquirer reported that, around 6 a.m. Monday, the rightful driver of a Coors Light beer truck stopped at a local Circle K station and went inside to tend to unspecified business. He came back out to find 56-year-old Gregory Miller pulling away in his 40-ton booze hauler, police said.

Miller made it to a Bojangles’ restaurant almost four miles away before pulling over and attempting to make a break for it on foot, police told the Ledger-Enquirer.

His getaway was cut short when he fell under the truck and it ran over his right leg.

Miller was taken into custody, the Ledger-Enquirer reported. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
