Police in Athens arrested two brothers and a juvenile Tuesday in connection with an attempted residential burglary.

In addition, entering-auto arrest warrants will be sought against the brothers, a police spokesman said.

About 1:15 p.m., a homeowner on Towne Square Drive contacted police to report three men walking behind a neighbor’s home, spokesman Geoffrey Gilland said in a news release.

“The males attempted to enter this home but fled when the resident saw them near a window,” he said. “Officers responded to the area, located, and then detained three suspects.”

Derrick Watson, 18, was charged with attempted burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. His brother, Derrion Watson, 17, was charged with attempted burglary, wearing a mask to conceal identity, possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

The juvenile, 14, was charged with attempted burglary and other offenses. He was detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
