A Cobb County teenager has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct after accidentally shooting and killing another man while they were sitting in a vehicle together, police said.

Cobb County police spokeswoman Officer Alicia Chilton said 18-year-old Demarcus Flint was arrested following the shooting just before 1 a.m. Tuesday near the Marietta intersection of Ember Street and Sherlock Drive. Twenty-year-old Smyrna resident Jhavares Doster was killed.

“Investigators were able to determine that [Flint] accidentally shot [Doster] while inside a vehicle,” Chilton said.

Flint is being held at the Cobb County jail without bond.
