Police in Clayton County are looking for an “armed and dangerous” man after authorities said he shot his girlfriend in the chest and pointed a gun at her daughter.

Kenneth Wayne Hines is wanted in connection with the incident that happened about 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Lakeview Way in Jonesboro, according to Clayton County police.

Hines allegedly shot his live-in girlfriend with a 9 mm handgun, then pointed it at her 20-year-old daughter’s face, the Clayton sheriff’s office said in a statement.

He drove away in a green 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.

Hines’ girlfriend was taken to a hospital, where she is stable, police said.

Police obtained a warrant accusing Hines of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities describe Hines as about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 210 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his right forearm that says “play for keeps,” the sheriff’s office said. The tag number of the car he fled in is CLE9429, officials said.
