A Clayton County man wanted on a rape charge turned himself in Wednesday, authorities said.

George Patrick Reid, 24, of Riverdale, is accused of raping a woman who was performing exotic dances at a birthday party in December 2016, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said in a public advisory.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said Reid asked the woman for a private dance in a bedroom before forcibly raping her when they were alone. Reid has denied the allegations, but Clayton investigators have DNA evidence they say proves otherwise.

Reid is being held in the Clayton County Jail. His bond has not yet been considered, according to jail records.
