A Cherokee County man will serve time in prison after pleading guilty to a string of vehicle thefts.
Jacob Cole Henson, 26, was sentenced to 20 years with eight to serve on 25 criminal counts, District Attorney Shannon Wallace said in a statement Wednesday.
Prosecutors said the crimes spanned four weeks in 2018, from July 20 until Aug. 13, and happened in Ball Ground, Canton, Holly Springs and Waleska, as well as Bartow and Dawson counties.

Among a litany of other charges, Henson faced an aggravated assault charge from Aug. 4, 2018. Three men told prosecutors they tried to chase him down while he drove off in a stolen Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer with a stolen ATV. Henson brandished a sawed-off shotgun, AJC.com reported.
In another incident Aug. 1 of the same year, prosecutors said Henson drove away from a pursuing deputy and put his passenger at risk. He was found after a high-speed chase and an hourslong search through the woods in Waleska.
Cherokee County officials said Henson stole a dirt bike, wrecked it, then tried to run away. He was being held at gunpoint by a resident on Little Refuge Road when deputies finally caught up with him.
