Tamira Mobley injected Tamara Blaine’s backside with silicone in a New York hotel room last July.
The silicone made its way into Blaine’s bloodstream, causing seizures and asphyxiation, killing her.
Now Mobley has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and first-degree assault in the young woman’s death.
The New York Times reports one plastic surgeon said the substance was industrial silicone, "the stuff you are taking to grease your garage door with."
This was the fourth time Mobley had injected Blaine, who was looking for "enhancement" of her rear end.
Mobley, who calls herself a beautician, attracted her clients with internet ads and preformed most of the injections at the by-the-hour hotel. Prosecutors say she has done the same to "numerous other women, over the course of two years."
Making the case even more tragic, Blaine's mother, who had been looking for her daughter for a month only found out about her death when she received a hospital bill.
Doctors say these kinds of "procedures" are dangerous yet are becoming more common.
