Canton police are looking for a pair of jewelry robbers who pulled a heist Friday at gunpoint.
Surveillance video captured two men who rushed into the Cartersville Jewelry Exchange at 1552 Riverstone Parkway around 11:20 a.m., waving handguns and ordering employees to the ground.
After reaching into one glass display case to take jewelry, one of the men tried unsuccessfully to smash his way into two other glass cases before fleeing the store.
No one was injured in the robbery, police said.
Police said the men are believed to have left the area in a dark green Ford F-150 pick-up truck headed south on I-575. Police think the vehicle was carjacked from Atlanta.
The pick-up truck was abandoned near the Hidden Creek subdivision, police said, and the men fled on foot.
Witnesses told police they saw the men toss items out of a vehicle on I-575 before getting into a passenger vehicle on I-575 near exit 14. Investigators did find items related to the robbery alongside I-575, police said.
Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the Canton Police Department at 770-720-4883.
