A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run of a 17-year-old Peachtree City boy, authorities said.

Elaina Marie Montelongo, 25, of Newnan, faces a felony hit-and-run charge in the death of Christopher Jordan Babilonia, the Peachtree City Police Department said Monday in a Facebook post.

On Thursday, Babilonia was found dead on Ga. 74 around 11:30 p.m., AJC.com previously reported. Authorities found him with “severe injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.” He died at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

At the time of the crash, the McIntosh High School student was on a golf cart, which was found 20 yards away, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Montelongo remains in the Fayette County Jail after being denied bond Tuesday, Channel 2 reported. She faces charges of hit-and-run, failure to render aid and theft by conversion.

GoFundMe page was set up by Babilonia's aunt to help with funeral expenses. It had raised $9,300 of its $10,000 fundraising goal as of Monday night.
