A threat that prompted officials to place a Clayton County high school on lockdown Friday was unfounded, a district spokeswoman said.
During the lunch hour, Channel 2 Action News chopper footage showed officers searching the exterior of Mundy’s Mill High School in Jonesboro. Officers were inside the school, too.
Officials did not say what led to the lockdown until 3 p.m., when Clayton County Public Schools spokeswoman Jada Dawkins said students and staff were safe.
“Notices will be sent home to all stakeholders informing them of the incident,” she said.
Dawkins did not specify what the threat was or how long the school was on lockdown.
