Remains found in the Chattahoochee River early Tuesday morning have been identified as a Sandy Springs man who had been reported missing, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.

Officials had been searching the Morgan Falls Dam area for 78-year-old Larry Cavanaugh for roughly a week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

His green 1996 BMW was found at the dam near a boat ramp Thursday, police Sgt. Sam Worsham said.

No foul play is suspected, police said.
