A man is dead and his wife remains in custody after a shooting last Monday morning at their home near Lithonia.

DeKalb County police are investigating the circumstances surrounding incident in the 7500 block of Edenberry Way. Bruce Heyward, 49, was found shot at the home, police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com.

He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

His wife, 45-year-old Aimee Heyward, was taken into custody following the shooting. She has been charged with murder and probation violation, according to jail records.
