Police are investigating after a man’s body was found near a Henry County community swimming pool Thursday afternoon.

The man was discovered lying face-down in the Pembrooke Park subdivision about 3:40 p.m. with a gunshot wound, Henry County police Capt. Randy Lee told Channel 2 Action News. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

NewsChopper 2 flew over the area, where authorities were taping off several sections of the pool and surrounding community area. The subdivision is off Willon Lane, which is just outside of the McDonough city limits.

Investigators were also seen near a square hole in the grass, which was taped off. It’s unclear what the hole is or why investigators were gathered around it.

No other information has been released.
