Police are questioning a person of interest in a deadly shooting in DeKalb County.

About 11 p.m. Sunday, 27-year-old Jonathan Pringle was shot and killed inside an apartment on Parc Chateau Drive, Lithonia police Capt. Lloyd Owens said. Contrary to earlier police reports, Owens said Pringle’s child, roommate and girlfriend were not inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Police early Monday asked parents to keep their children inside and temporarily blocked the road to Lithonia Middle School while they searched for the alleged gunman. Students were allowed access to the school just before 7:50 a.m.

No charges have been filed.
