An Atlanta man accused of beating his girlfriend to death will remain behind bars, a DeKalb County judge ruled Wednesday.

Antonio Taylor, 53, is charged with the murder of 37-year-old Aisha Dixon, a mother of 12 who police said was beaten at a DeKalb apartment and then driven to Grady Memorial Hospital late last month.

Doctors called police after Taylor told them his unresponsive girlfriend hit her head going down some stairs, Channel 2 Action News reported.
But it was revealed in court Wednesday that Taylor also had red marks on her neck from where she had apparently been strangled.
Dixon's 12-year-old son told investigators he saw Taylor assault his mother, and detectives said her 2-year-old and 3-month old were also in the home when the alleged attack took place.

Prosecutors argued that Taylor beat Dixon because he believed she was cheating on him with another man.

Dixon’s aunt, Anissa Thompson, said Taylor took away the children’s mother for no reason.

“They have to live with the fact that their mother’s not here,” Thompson told Channel 2. “This may sound a little harsh, but I hope he rots in jail.”

Taylor previously served a 12-year stint in prison after he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, according to Channel 2. He remains held at the DeKalb County jail.
