A former police officer accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile has been re-indicted in the case, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

Kristin Matthew Ward, formerly with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, was initially indicted in 2015, but a new indictment was filed after the judge recused himself due to an undisclosed conflict, the newspaper reported.

Ward faces charges of child molestation, criminal attempt to commit child molestation and two counts of violation of oath by a public officer.

His next court date is March 6.
