Police arresting suspects in the armed robbery of a high-end downtown Atlanta shoe store also captured a man wanted in connection with a mall ATM theft, authorities said Friday.

On the evening of Dec. 30, eight males rushed into the Fly Kix store at 275 Peters St. in the Castleberry Hill community, brandished guns and demanded money from the cash register, police said.

Surveillance camera footage from the store showed armed men force store employees and customers to the ground before robbing them.

The bandits left with more than $23,000 worth of shoes, apparel and cash, according to police reports.

“Investigators were able to identify an adult and a juvenile as suspects in this robbery,” and got an arrest warrant for the two, Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee said.

The juvenile, who is not being named because of his age, was arrested on Jan. 4, and police arrested 18-year-old Letravius Lawrence on Thursday, Chafee said.

Both were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with intent to rob, participation in criminal street gang activity and theft by receiving stolen auto, police said.

While arresting Lawrence, Chafee said officers encountered Brenton Gray, 23, who was wanted in connection with an October ATM theft from the West End Mall.

Gray was arrested on multiple charges, including two counts of theft by taking, two counts of burglary and one count of participation in a criminal street gang, police said.
