East Point police said they are still looking for Ronald White in connection with a young father's death back in September.

Two suspects have been arrested and one is still on the run nearly three months after a 24-year-old father of two was killed during a carjacking in East Point, police said.

Ronald White is still wanted in connection with the death of Terrick Matthews. Matthews was shot Sept. 3 during a carjacking outside an apartment complex on Fox Hunt Lane, East Point police told Channel 2 Action News. His 15-year-old brother is one of the suspects in custody. He is not being named by police because he is a minor.

The other is Luther Bernard Ausbrooks, who was arrested in October on murder, carjacking, armed robbery, aggravated assault and weapons charges.

Matthews was asleep in the passenger seat of the car when the three men are accused of trying to break in. The commotion woke him up, and Matthews was shot once in the neck, killing him, AJC.com previously reported.

Another man who was in the driver’s seat was unharmed.

Matthews was cooperating with the alleged robbers before he was shot, and it “wasn’t necessary for them to take his life,” East Point police spokeswoman Ebony Johnson said at the time.

Surveillance video at a nearby Exxon gas station on Cleveland Avenue in southwest Atlanta appears to show the suspects light the car on fire and leave it there. No one was injured as a result of the fire.

The mother of the 15-year-old suspect recognized him from the surveillance video and turned him in, Channel 2 reported.
