Two people were arrested in New Orleans in connection with a road-rage shooting death in DeKalb County on March 30, police said Friday.

Joel Williams, 30, and Alvion Robinson, 27, are awaiting extradition to Georgia to face charges in the death of Gerald Lovell Tisdale, police spokeswoman Shiera Campell said.

Tisdale, 52, of Snellville, was shot on eastbound U.S. 78 near Mountain Industrial Boulevard, police said. Williams, the alleged shooter, fired at Tisdale from a black Nissan Altima, causing Tisdale to lose control of his vehicle.

Tisdale left the road and crashed in the woods, Campbell said. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Williams and Robinson fled to New Orleans after the incident, Campbell said Friday.

They are charged with murder and three counts of second-degree cruelty to children because three small children were in the car during the shooting, Campbell said.

The incident happened after the drivers got into an argument, police said at the time.
