One person was arrested Wednesday after driving into a DeKalb police car and leading officers on a brief chase, authorities said.

The incident began when officers observed a possible drug deal between two people at a business on Hammermill Road, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said.

Police attempted to stop the driver of one of the cars when the suspect ran, purposely striking a DeKalb patrol car as they sped from the scene, Spencer said.

After a brief pursuit, the driver was arrested at a Citgo gas station on East Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Authorities have not released the driver’s name or their charges.
