Two men were arrested in Hall County after deputies said they assaulted a 15-year-old girl and robbed her at gunpoint.

Martin Martinez Morales, 38, and Miguel Angel Martinez Morales, 30, both of Lula, are charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident, according to Hall sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth.

The incident happened near the 7000 block of Wheeler Road in Lula just before 9 p.m. Monday, Booth said in a news release. The girl was walking down the road when two men in a pickup truck pulled alongside her.

The driver threatened the girl and pointed a handgun at her, Booth said. The teen tried to run, but the truck pulled in front of her, according to the sheriff’s office.

The two men got out of the truck, and the driver grabbed the girl by her shirt, Booth said. He then kicked her and threw her to the ground, according to the news release. The girl managed to get up and run for help.

Booth said the suspects made off with the teen’s phone, which she dropped.

Deputies arrested them a short time later when they were spotted pulling from the driveway of a home in the 6900 block of Wheeler Road, Booth said. Investigators found the handgun inside the residence.

Booth said additional charges are expected in the case. The incident is still under investigation.
