It was sunny and warm Tuesday in Atlanta. Get ready for more warmth Wednesday.
“The heat is here,” Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.
After a morning low Wednesday around 59 degrees, it should warm to a midday temperature of about 80 and an eventual high of 84.
“Tomorrow,” Burns said, “we’ll be waking up to a beautiful day of warm temperatures.”
Currently, it’s 78 degrees in Atlanta. The average for this time of year is 76.
For the rest of the week, projections are for the highs to reach the 80s. The expected high is 84 on Thursday and 83 on Friday.
It should be warm in May. It will be, but temperatures will be a bit above average overall from May 9-15 (in addition to the next several days). pic.twitter.com/Kdsd9UtItl

Pollen could accompany the increasing temperatures. The count for Tuesday was 103 particles per cubic meter of air, according to Atlanta, Allergy and Asthma. That is down from Monday’s count of 625.
Rain returns to the forecast this weekend. There is a 40 percent chance Saturday and Sunday.
“We’ll have some cloud cover building in with scattered showers with this front coming through,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “I don’t expect a rainout.”
The wet weather could usher in lower temperatures.

In the meantime, expect the same pattern of cool mornings and warm afternoons.
