The first positive coronavirus case has been confirmed in Connecticut, state Governor Ned Lamont said Friday.
The person who tested positive for the virus is an employee with Norwalk Hospital and Danbury Hospital. They are a New York state, Lamont said in a tweet.

Prominent Atlanta pastor Andy Stanley, founder of North Point Ministries, sent an email to members of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, giving them permission to stay home from church amid concerns surrounding the virus.

"If you've been exposed to a person with the coronavirus or the flu or have recently traveled to a CDC Level 2 or 3 country (China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong, or Japan), please take a couple of Sundays off," Stanley said in an email to churchgoers. "If you or your family members are experiencing or have recently experienced symptoms associated with the flu or the common cold (fever, persistent cough, headache, chills, or unexplained rash), we ask that you take a couple of Sundays off as well.
"We're working hard to ensure our environments are clean and safe for you and your family."

SXSW, the Austin, Texas, music, film and technology festival, has been canceled amid coronavirus concerns. The Verge reported it is the first time in festival's 34-year history that it has been canceled.
"We understand the gravity of the situation for all the creatives who utilize SXSW to accelerate their careers; for the global businesses; and for Austin and the hundreds of small businesses – venues, theatres, vendors, production companies, service industry staff, and other partners that rely so heavily on the increased business that SXSW attracts," the statement said in part.
"We will continue to work hard to bring you the unique events you love. Though it’s true that our March 2020 event will no longer take place in the way that we intended, we continue to strive toward our purpose – helping creative people achieve their goals."

President Trump's motorcade has left the CDC and headed back to Dobbins Air Force Base, where he will board Air Force 1. He spent some extra time at the CDC, 15 minutes longer than what was on the schedule.
While visiting the CDC, he would not give a prediction on how many coronavirus cases have spread across the US.

President Donald Trump arrived in Atlanta to visit the Centers for Disease Control after telling reporters he canceled the visit Friday morning. At the time, Trump claimed someone at the CDC suspected they had the virus.
The trip was scheduled to highlight the Trump administration's response to coronavirus, the AJC previously reported.
