An Alpharetta mother and her friend were unconscious and unresponsive after the minivan they were traveling in hit a guardrail, crossed all lanes of traffic, and ran off of Holcomb Bridge Road, according to police.

That’s because the pair was high on heroin, despite traveling with two kids in the backseat, Roswell police said.

“Both the driver and front seat passenger were unconscious and unresponsive, but both children were conscious, alert, and buckled into their child seats properly,” the police report states.

Suspected heroin was located on the center console, along with two hypodermic needles and a spoon with heroin residue, according to police.

“The driver and passenger did admit to purchasing heroin and shooting up the heroin with the kids in the car,” Officer Lisa Holland with Roswell police told Channel 2 Action News.

Police arrested the mother, Erica Mondor, and her passenger, Autumn Miller, both 26. They were taken first to North Fulton Hospital for treatment after the Nov. 11 incident. The children, whose ages were not released, were not injured and were released to a grandparent.

Mondor was charged with two counts of child endangerment, DUI, reckless conduct, failure to maintain lane, drug possession, and possession and use of drug-related objects, according to Fulton County jail records. She was being held Wednesday night on $22,000 bond, booking records showed.

Miller was charged with drug possession and possession and use of drug-related objects. She was being held Wednesday night on $8,000 bond.
